The Canon IXUS 200 IS is a 12 megapixel digital camera. It is the first from Canon that allows you to select controls through a touch sensitive LCD screen. The screen is 3 inches in size. As well as being able to select standard controls through the screen you can also set focusing. This is achieved by touching an object that you would like the camera to focus on.

There is a 5x zoom lens. With a minimum focal length of 24mm this gives the IXUS 200 IS extreme wide angle capabilities. This is great for photographing any wide scene such as a sweeping landscape or group of people.

There is a High Definition movie mode to capture short movie clips. Image stabilisation has been included to help ensure sharper shots. If you need a little help from time to time there is a Hints and Tips section to the menu system. This explains the functions available to you.

Another innovative feature is Active Display. This allows you to scroll through photos you have taken just by moving and tilting the camera.
