The Canon IXUS 980 IS is packed full of megapixels with 14.7. This is more than enough to make super large prints. The good news is that rather than trying to squeeze such a large number of pixels onto a standard size CCD Canon have increased the size of the sensor. This should at least maintain the picture quality achieved by cameras in the IXUS range with fewer megapixels.
The IXUS 980 IS is one of the more stylish cameras on the market. In fact one of the big attractions of the camera is its design.
The camera has a 3.7x optical zoom. This is supported by image stabilisation. Although not as essential in these lightweight cameras with shorter lenses image stabilisation can still help to cut down on picture blur and make your photos that bit sharper.
At 28mm wide the IXUS 980 IS is neat and compact and although it will fit into a generously sized pocket it is not one of the true ultra compact models.
You have a choice of colours as the camera is available in black and silver.
When composing photos you can choose between a 2.5 inch LCD screen and a viewfinder. |
