The Canon IXUS 990 IS is a very stylish digital camera. It will fit into a pocket, but the pocket will need to be on the large side. The amount of zoom offered by the IXUS 990 IS is 5x. This shows an increase when compared to previous models in this part of the Canon range. Image stabilisation has been built into the lens in an attempt to combat any picture blur caused by camera shake.

As is now becoming more common there is a 3 inch LCD screen for composing photos and accessing the menu system. This is at the expense of a viewfinder.
