The Canon Powershot A2000 IS is a 10 megapixel digital camera with a 6x optical zoom lens. Canon has built image stabilisation into the lens to help combat any loss of sharpness in a photo caused by camera shake.
On the back of the camera is a large 3 inch LCD screen. Unlike the majority of previous Canon Powershot cameras there is no viewfinder.
I would describe the Powershot A2000 IS as a step up from a basic point and shoot camera. This is because you have more control over features such as metering and focusing than you do on the most basic cameras.
The movie mode allows you to take TV quality movies. A movie can run for up to 4GB of storage or one hour.
Images can be stored on SD and SDHC cards. A 32mb SD card is supplied with the Powershot A2000 IS as standard.
At 31mm wide the camera is too large to be classed as pocket sized. In order to protect the camera it is worth budgeting for a small camera bag.
The Powershot A2000 IS runs on AA batteries. |
