The Nikon D3000 is the latest entry level Digital SLR from Nikon. It is aimed at people looking for their first Digital SLR camera. With this in mind the D3000 has a built in guide mode. When you access the guide mode it suggests camera settings to be used for different photo opportunities. There is also a retouch menu that allows you to correct common problems without the need to resort to a computer and photo retouching software. There are 13 retouch functions altogether. These include Trim, Red-eye Correction and Soft Filter.
Key features include an 11 point autofocus system. There is a burst mode that can fire off photos at up to 3 frames per second. For composing photos there is a 3 inch LCD screen. To help you along the way there are six built in scene modes. These are Portrait, Landscape, Child, Sports, Close-up and Night Portrait. As is now standard with all Digital SLRs sensor cleaning is built into the body to help keep the sensor clear of any dust problems that might blight your photographs.
Nikon has introduced a kit version of the D3000. This allows you to pick up a 18 – 55mm starter lens. |
