The Panasonic DMC LX3 is the most advanced compact digital camera in the Panasonic range. At 24mm its lens offers you the widest angle of any compact digital camera. This is likely to appeal to someone whose photography is based mainly around landscapes, interiors, buildings or group portraits. This is especially true when you take its limited zoom capabilities into account. Zoom can be increased when shooting at lower resolutions to a maximum of 4.5x.
As well as the wide angle lens the DMC LX3 has a number of advanced features. These include manual exposure options (fully manual, aperture priority and shutter priority). You can also save images in RAW format to increase your editing options later on. There is also a film mode this attempts to mimic the look your photographs would have if you had taken pictures using different types of film.
When compared to more standard digital cameras you will find increased options for focusing and white balance. The macro mode allows for shooting from 1cm away from the subject. Photos are composed on a 3 inch LCD screen.
The DMC LX3 is also able to capture HD quality movies. |
