The Pentax K-7 is a Digital SLR. It is aimed at the top end of the enthusiast market. Pentax has equipped the K-7 with waterproof seals to make the camera weather resistant. These seals also help to overcome cold weather conditions with the K-7 being able to handle temperatures down to minus seven degrees centigrade.
This is a relatively small and lightweight camera body. The weight of the camera has been controlled through the use of a magnesium – steel alloy for the housing. The camera chassis is made from a stainless steel alloy.
General features include a 14.6 megapixel resolution. As is now common with Digital SLRs Pentax has built in a dust removal system to help keep the sensor free of dust. The waterproof seals further help to keep dust at bay.
Rapid fire shooting is catered for with a bust mode capable of taking up to 5.2 shots per second. There is an 11 point auto focus mechanism. You can also shoot High Definition movies with the K-7. Live view is available through the 3 inch LCD screen and you also have access to 16 digital filters giving you the chance to create different effects in camera without the need to resort to image manipulation software. |
